(Firefighters remain on the scene of the Shockey Fire)….The blaze near Campo was 100 % contained Tuesday afternoon. The fire was reported at just before 3:00 Tuesday morning near the Shockey Truck Trail. The Department of Forestry evacuated 1,500 homes near the Campo area and the blaze burned approximately 200 acres before it was finally contained. Cal Fire says some firefighters and a couple engines remain on scene to ensure no wind blown hot spots cause any flare-ups. The cause of the fire is under investigation. No injuries were reported. Evacuation orders were lifted Tuesday afternoon. |
