(El Centro not the only ones catching deported sex offenders)…The El Centro Sector Border Patrol has nabbed over 20 convicted sex offenders re-entering the US since May of this year.

This week, the East San Diego sector caught one. The 47-year-old man was among 11 illegal immigrants detained by Border Patrol agents near Jacumba. The group, all from Mexico, was detained at around 9:30 Wednesday morning. An identification check of those detained turned up information of the deported offender. The unidentified man had been convicted of committing lewd and lascivious on a child under the age of 14. He had served a three-year sentence in a California prison before being deported. The Border Patrol says he is now facing criminal prosecution for re-entering the Country, violating the deportation order.
