Sex Offender Nabbed By Border Patrol

Friday night about 9:00 U.S. Border Patrol Agents arrested a convicted sex offender wanted for probation violation. Agents from the El Centro Station of the Border Patrol saw an individual illegally crossing into the United States about 10 miles west of Calexico, California. The man was quickly taken into custody and taken to the El Centro Station for processing. A records check revealed that the man had been arrested in June of 2003 for having sex with a minor. He was convicted and sentenced to five years probation for that crime. An arrest warrant had been issued for a probation violation in connection with this conviction. The man was turned over to the Imperial County sheriffs Office awaiting transfer to San Joaquin County
