(Parents are being asked to get their kids the “Smart Card”)…..The Smart Card is a Library card. Camarena memorial Library in Calexico says September is Library Card Month. They are recommending parents take advantage, and get their kids a Smart Card. They say studies show that children who are read to in the home and who use the library perform better in school and are more likely to continue to use the Library as a source of lifetime learning. You can access Library information at Calexico library.org. Camarena Memorial Library is located at 850 Encinas Avenue. Library hours are10:00 am to 8:00 pm Monday through Thursday. 10:00 am to 6:00 pm Friday and 10:00 am to 5:00 pm Saturday. The William Moreno Jr. High School Branch Library is located at 1202 Kloke Road. Their hours are 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm Monday thru Thursday.
