School Board to swear in new members

(Calexico School Board to swear in new members)….The swearing in ceremonies will take place during this weeks School Board meeting. The meeting will be held Tuesday at 6:00 pm. The ceremony is the only item on the agenda. Ruben De La Rosa and Gloria Romo were elected to the Board on November 4. The Calexico chapter of the California School Employees Association will also be choosing new officers this month. On December 16, the Union will conduct their installation meeting. Chapter President Vincent Ayala says he will step aside and allow for the election of new blood on the Board. Among those seeking Ayala’s seat is Chris De La Rosa, the son of newly elected School Board member Ruben De La Rosa. Ayala says he will remain on the Board as an advisor to the new members. The CSEA meeting will be held at the new Cesar Chavez Elementary School; beginning at 5:00 pm. Members will vote on the new Board, with the results being announced at the conclusion of the meeting.
