(Brawley may be in the market for a new City Manager)…The Brawley City Council is set to discuss the City Manager position at their meeting Tuesday night. Oscar Rodriguez, the current City Manager, has a contract that runs through January 14, 2008. Newly appointed Mayor for the City of Brawley, John Benson said Tuesday afternoon he did not expect Rodriguez would be offered a new contract. Without going into detail, Benson said Rodriguez would work to the end of his current contract. Rodriguez has not been available for comment on the issue. The City Council has held at least two closed session meetings to discuss a possible contract extension. Rodriguez has worked for the Cities of El Centro and Calexico before taking the job with Brawley a few years ago.
