Rainbow Trout Waiting Patiently at Sunbeam & Wiest Lakes PDF Print E-mail

Truckloads of trout are just waiting to be caught at Sunbeam abnd Weist lakes. The rambunctious Rainbows are ready for the Junior Trout Fishing Derby set for Saturday at the local lakes. Kids 15 and under, accompanied by an adult , will have the chance to catch the trout and compete for prizes for the biggest fish in several age catagories for both boys and girls.

Youngsters can register beginning at 7:00 AM at both lakes. Fishing begins at 8:00 AM and the tourney ends at 11:00 AM. You must provide your own bait and tackle , only one rod per angler and there is a 5 fish limit. The annual fishing derby is sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of El Centro and the Brawley Lions Club in cooperation with the California Department of Fish and Game and the Imperial County Fish and Game Commission.
