U. S. Border Patrol agents observed a raft with five individuals and several large duffel bags crossing the All American Canal about 20 miles east of Calexico Thursday night. Border Patrol agents intercepted the group of five as they travelled north from the canal towards Interstate 8. Three of the five were apprehnded. Five duffel bags full of marijuana weighing a total of 356.4 pounds were confiscated. Agents determined that the other two would be smugglers escaped back to Mexico.
