(There is not a lot of support for a human waste burning power plant)…The results are in for a poll conducted on the KXO website and they are not favorable for the proposed sludge plant in Niland. The results are not scientific, and only include a sampling of Imperial valley residents. According to the results, 51.5% of those responding said they were totally disgusted as a reaction of a power plant in Imperial valley that will burn human waste from Los Angeles. 31.7% said it should be burned in Los Angeles. 10.1% wanted to know who was responsible. 2.8% were absolutely in favor of the proposal. 2.1% said ‘why not? And 1.8% expressed indifference to the question. Liberty Energy out of Bakersfield is once again attempting to locate an alternative fueled power plant, this time near Niland.
