Propane gas causes fire

(A House fire reported in south El Centro.)…The Fire was reported at around 6:00 Tuesday evening at Wake and 8th. Captain Whitlock of the El Centro fire department said there were no injuries reported in the fire. He said the cause of the fire is being attributed to weatherworn propane lines on a barbecue in the backyard of the house. The Captain says the lines cracked and that shot fire through two doors of the house. Whitlock said damage to the house and the contents is estimated at $80,000.
