(Calexico man to stand trial for attempted murder)….Twenty year old Arturo Olivas is facing an attempted murder charge. He was arrested November 1 after he allegedly stabbed a man at a Halloween Party. Olivas reportedly got into an argument with Samuel Escobedo. The argument turned violent and Olivas allegedly stabbed Escobedo several times with a pocketknife. The victim was transported to a San Diego area Hospital, but his condition has not been released. A pre-trial hearing for Olivas is scheduled for November 17. Olivas is in custody. His bail was set at $500,000.
