Power Outage Affects 2300 IID Customers

A problem in an Imperial Irrigation District sub-station shut down power to approximately 2,300 customers this morning. Power went off for a section of the Valley north of El Centro and into Imperial at 7:18 Friday morning. Reports are that the electricity began to come back on about 30 minutes later. The district is still investigating the cause of the power interruption. The transmitter site for both KXO AM1230 and KXO-FM107.5 is in the blackout area and the El Centro stations were silenced.
