(Kids will have plenty of time to enjoy Splash Pad)….Meteorologists Jim Christopherson says there will be at least two more weeks of 100-degree temperatures in the Valley.

That is plenty of time for kids in El Centro to enjoy the new splash pad. The long awaited recreational device opened last week at the Cities Community Center. It has been put to good use by children taking advantage of the splash pad after school. The City also expects to open the new playground equipment at Swarthout Park any day now. The final touches are being put on the new equipment before the fences come down, and the children are allowed to enjoy it. The new equipment is part of a reconfiguration of the Park, used as a practice field for Little League teams, and Soccer League games. Pop Warner football teams are expected to join the activities when construction is complete.
