(Peterson is going back to Nebraska)….Kelsey Peterson was in federal Court in El Centro Thursday.

She is being charged with transporting a minor from Nebraska to Mexicali for sexual purposes. Thursday U.S. Magistrate Peter Lewis denied a bail request and ordered the 25-year-old former teacher be returned to face charges in Nebraska. Peterson had been fired as a 6th grade teacher in Lexington, Nebraska last week when it was learned she was having an affair with the 8th grader. The two fled Nebraska last Friday, and were found at a Mexicali shopping Mall Saturday. There is some dispute as to the age of the student. It was originally reported he was a 13 year old. Peterson’s family is now saying is 16. The boy stayed in Mexicali after Peterson was arrested there over the weekend. The boy was in the United States illegally, and will probably not be allowed to return to Nebraska to testify.
