Over $11,000 Raised For Red Cross PDF Print E-mail

Imperial Valley residents demonstrated their giving ways Wednesday as over $11,062.00 was raised during KXO AM1230 and FM107's fundraiser for the San Diego/ Imperial County Chapter of the American Red Cross. KXO Radio personalities broadcast live from the American Red Cross Ofices at 8th and Broadway in El Centro from 7:00 AM until 5:00 PM. The highlght of the day happened when a $7,500 check was presented by representatives of the Paradise Casinos and the Quechan Indian Tribe of Winterhaven,California and Yuma, Arizona. " Our thoughts and prayers go to the families in need. If our donation can help make someone else's lose easier, than it is money well spent." said Charles B. Montague, General Manager for Paradise Casinos. Gene Brister,President/General Mananger of KXO Radio said, " Even though funds are no longer being solicited for the San Diego wild fires, Wednesdays turnout spoke volumes of how important local rsidents feel it is for the San Diego/Imperial County Chapter of the American Red Cross to be prepared for the next disaster."
