(Seven people are injured at the Las Palmas Swap meet)…Calexico Police Sergeant Gonzalo Gerardo says the incident occurred at 9:40 Wednesday morning. Gerardo says an employee of Las Palmas was driving a vehicle inside the Swap Meet. The Sergeant says witnesses indicate the man looked like he suffered a seizure of some type. The vehicle went out of control and ran over 7 people. Gerardo says his department, the Calexico Fire Department and Gold Cross Ambulance responded to the incident. The injured were taken to El Centro Regional Medical Center and Pioneers Memorial Hospital for treatment. At last report, two of the victims were reported in critical condition. Three of the injured were in stable condition, and the remaining two were described as walking wounded. None of those involved in the incident have been identified, and Gerardo did not say what the condition of the driver was in. |
