Ocotillo - Recreational Park in Process

(Ocotillo os get a recreational park)…. Most Cities and Unincorporated communities have a nice recreational park. Soon Ocotillo will have one, as well. County Planning Director Jurg Hueberger says plans are to construct a 5-acre park west of unit one, north of highway S-2. Emory Trust donated the property to the County. The County has $490,000 in grant funds to construct the park. Around $210,000 in matching donation funds will also be used. Most of the match, according to the Planning Director, will be in the form of volunteer work on the park. Hueberger says bids are currently being sought for separate projects, including fencing, landscaping, asphalt work and building construction. He said the bids are being sought separately to save money. The Planning director says the bids are expected to be opened at the December 19^th Board of Supervisors meeting.
