November Election Candidate Filing Opens

Monday July 14, 2008 is the first day for filing declaration of candidacy for the November 4 , 2008 election. The filing period will end August 8, 2008 for the Presidential General Election that will see many local seats up for grabs. The Calexico Unified School District has two seats open. There's three full term and one short term seat on the Central Union High School District Board. There are three seats each on the ballot for the Magnolia , Seeley and Mulberry Union Elementary School Districts. Three seats on the Heffernan Memorial Hospital District Board of Trustees and three seats on the Pioneers Memorial Healthcare District Board. There are also seats for theCoachella Valley Unified School District and the Coachella Valley Water District that both overlap the northend of Imperial County. A Declaration of Candidacy for all these offices is available at the Imperial County Registrar of Voters office. The Cities of Holtville and Imperial both have municipal elections scheduled and candidates for the city openings must file with the City Clerk of each city.
