No vote on tentative contract in Calexico

(Vote put off on tentative contract)….The Calexico School Board and the Union representing the Classified Employees thought they had a new contract. Members of the California School Employees Association 399 were set to vote on the tentative contract Wednesday. Union officials say they canceled the vote after they discovered information on issues that has not been made available to them during the negotiation process. They would not say what that information was. They did say there will be no vote on the contract until they can discuss the information with School District negotiators. The School Board is meeting Thursday night at 6:00 at Dool Elementary on Encinas. They will be discussing the budget for the next school year, and possible employee lay-offs.
