No Injuries in School Bus Accident

A car rear-ended an El Centro Elementary School District bus this morning. The accident occurred at about 7:25 this morning at Euclid Avenue and 4rh Street in El Centro. The bus , carrying 20 students from McKinley, Kennedy, Hedrick , Wilson and Sunflower Schools , was southbound on 4th Street near Swarthout Park and made a right turn onto Euclid Avenue , stopping at the railroad tracks as required by law. A car , also southbound on 4th Street , turned onto Euclid Avenue and ran into the rear of the bus. No children on the bus were injured. The driver, Sergio Garcia was also uninjured. The cars driver, 29 year old Michelle Marquez of Imperial and her 1 year old passenger escaped injury. According to Officer Arroyo of the California Highway Patrol damage to the car was moderate while damage to the schoolbus was very minor.
