(Has the No Borders protest fizzled?)…It appears so. The No Borders Camp has done little since arriving in Imperial County earlier this week.

On their initial arrival, about 100 of the protestors marched on both sides of the International fence, but have since done nothing but camp-out on the outskirts of Calexico. The group of International protestors were to have marched to the Terrace Park Cemetery in Holtville, but a spokesperson for the group, who identifies herself only as Sara, said it was too hot. The group made it as far as Anza and Barbara Worth Roads, and that is where they have remained. They were scheduled to protest in front of the Downtown Calexico Port of Entry, but that March never materialized. No reason has been given. Law Enforcement officers observing the group say other than a few females walking around topless; there has been no civil disobedience from the group. Sources say the planned Friday protest at the El Centro Detention Facility will be coordinated with a similar protest at the Detention facility in Tacoma, Washington. The group has said they will remain in the County until Sunday, for a Day of Artistic expression, but other sources say they may pack-up after the march Friday.
