(Border Protestors don’t make it to Holtville)…The No Borders Camp is currently set-up outside of Calexico, preparing to march on the Downtown Port of Entry at 5:00 this evening.

The group of about 100 marched down the International fence Wednesday. About half were on the Mexicali side of the fence and the rest were on the Calexico side. The group had said they would be walking to the Terrace Park Cemetery in Holtville. Several unidentified Illegal immigrants are buried at the Holtville Cemetery. The group apparently got tired. Police say they made it as far as Anza and Barbara Worth Road, and that is where they spent the night. Information from the international group is difficult, since they have no identifiable organizer or spokesperson. Participants want to share little information, except that they are against borders. There is word that the group may cut its visit to Calexico short. They had said they would be in the area through Sunday. There website indicates a protest at the Detention Center in El Centro on Friday. Saturday the site says they will take action against the wall and on Sunday, they will have a day of Artistic Expression.
