Niland Turbine Plant ceremonies scheduled for Friday

(Groundbreaking for the new Niland Power plant is Friday)….The Imperial Irrigation District will host the groundbreaking ceremonies at 10:00 Friday morning. The site of the new Niland Gas Turbine Plant is on Beal Road, next to the Niland sub-station. Along with the groundbreaking there will be a ceremonial signing of supplemental labor agreements with the California Unions for Reliable Energy, or CURE and construction trade unions. Attending the ceremonies will be IID Board President Stella Mendoza, IID General Manager Charles Hosken, Other District officials, State union representatives, local union representatives and Aida Gates, the local representative for State Senator Denise Moreno Ducheny.
