(New Calexico Police Chief takes office Friday)….The current Lt. Jim Neuhjar will be sworn in as Police Chief for Calexico in ceremonies that begin at 2:00 Friday afternoon. Neuhjar takes over for Mario Sanchez, who retired after more than 20 years with the Calexico Department. Neuhjar’s contract is reportedly in place. He will reportedly be paid an annual salary of $102,000, with benefits. The position will be evaluated after one year to determine if a pay increase would be in order. Neuhjar will also be assigned a city vehicle. Termination of the contract will be at the discretion of the City Manager, with a 3-month salary and health benefit severance. |
