(Calexico School Board to consider contract)….The Calexico Unified School District Board of trustees will meet on Thursday.

During the meeting the Board is expected to discuss the recently ratified contract with the California School Employees Association Chapter 399. The C S E A members overwhelmingly ratified the contract, but it may not be that easy for the Board. Negotiators for both sides included an extra holiday in the new contract. According to the agreement, Cesar Chavez’s Birthday has been added to the list of holidays for next school year. Some school board members reportedly have objected to including the extra holiday, and may try to block district ratification of the new contract. The meeting begins at 6:00 pm and will be held in the District offices on Andrade Avenue in Calexico.
