Murder Suspect Arrested At Calexico Port of Entry

A man wanted in connection with a murder in Long Beach was detained by U. S. Customs and Border Protection officers at the downtown Calexico port of entry Saturday. Mario Montejano-Lopez , 57, of Mexicali , Baja California was detained after trying to enter the United States Saturday morning at about 11:00. CBP officers at the vehicle primary lanes performed a name check on the mans documents and discovered an outstanding warrant for murder from the Long Beach Police Department. After the warrant was confirmed , Montejano-Lopez was placed in custody by the Calexico Police Department and transported to Imperial County Jail to await transfer to Long Beach, California.
