(Officials identify those involved in Wednesday's Murder/Suicide)….El Centro Police say at around 4:30 Wednesday afternoon Jorge Zepeda Ochoa entered the Rancho Market in the Valley Plaza El Centro.

Zepeda reportedly confronted his brother-in-law Jorge Navarete, who operated the Jewelry sales inside the supermarket. Zepeda was reportedly armed with a handgun. For still undetermined reasons, Zepeda opened fire and shot Navarete at least twice, before turning the gun on himself. Police say Zepeda fell near the front door to the market, with his gun in his hand. Law Enforcement from around the County responded to the tragic situation. A perimeter was set-up, and investigators proceeded cautiously to ensure the safety of those inside the store. Once it was determined Zepeda was no longer a threat, medical personnel were allowed in. The two men were transferred to El Centro Regional Medical Center. Navarete reportedly died enroute, while Zepeda was pronounced dead at the Hospital. El Centro Police Chief Leonard Knight said the witnesses are being interviewed and evidence gathered to try to determine what caused the confrontation and tragic results. Knight said it apparently involved a family dispute. The Chief said counseling and whatever assistance available would be sought for the witnesses to the tragedy, especially the children in the store at the time.
