(Suspected illegal immigrant dies in the desert)….The man was apparently left behind by the group he was traveling with. The group reportedly crossed into the open west desert early Sunday. The one man could not keep up with the group, and they left him behind. One other person from the group stayed behind with the sick man. When the man expired, the other person hiked out of the desert and notified Border Patrol agents. He led to agents to the dead man. The body was located in an area north of Highway 98, east of No Mirage. The victim is described only as a Hispanic male, around 30 years of age. His identity has been established, but the Coroners office says the name cannot be released until his family is notified. The Mexican Consul in Calexico is working on the notification. An autopsy has been scheduled to determine the cause of death.
