(County Strike Team in for a long work day)….The local Strike Team left for Los Angeles County Monday.

Officials say they will be working a 24-hour day fighting the Porter Ranch Fire, also known as the Sesnon Fire. After the first 24 hours, the Strike Teams will be given 12 hours to rest up for another 12-hour shift on the fire lines. The Imperial County Strike Team consists of engines from The County, Calipatria, Calexico, Holtville and El Centro. The Strike Team leader is Chris Hall, Chief of the Calipat Department. The Strike Teams will have fresh firefighters rotated in, if assistance is needed for more than a week. At last report the Sesnon Fire had burned over 7,000 acres, and was 0% contained.
