(El Centro sector Border Patrol gets a new Chief)….A change of command ceremony has been scheduled for this Friday.

 The ceremony will be held at the Barbara Worth Country Club, starting at 11:00 am. National Border Patrol Deputy Chief Ronald Colburn will officially transfer command of the El Centro Sector to incoming Chief Patrol Agent Jeffery Calhoon. Before his current appointment, Calhoon served as the Deputy Chief of the Yuma Sector Border Patrol. He began his career with the Border Patrol in 1981 as an agent in Sierra Blanca, Texas. He has served in Nogales, Arizona, El Paso, Texas, and Willcox, Arizona. Calhoon served eleven years as an active member of the Border Patrol’s elite tactical unit, BORTAC. While a member of BORTAC, he participated in five narcotics tours of duty in Bolivia and Guatemala and several domestic high-profile tactical operations in the United States. As Chief of the El Centro Sector, Calhoon will oversee over 1,100 personnel and be responsible for 71 linear miles of International Boundary with Mexico.
