(The Avoid the Ten Imperial County coalition will be out this weekend)….Members of the Brawley, Calexico, Calipatria and Westmorland Police Departments will be conducting DUI enforcement patrols.

The Special patrols will continue all weekend, starting tonight. The special patrols could include Sobriety Checkpoints. The Coalition says the detection and apprehension of drunk drivers or drug-impaired drivers is a crucial component of the California Traffic Safety Program. Calexico Police Lt. J.J. Serrano says this weekend’s operation is one of several multi-agency DUI enforcement operations planned throughout the year in Imperial County. Calexico will set up a Sobriety Checkpoint Saturday night at an undetermined location. Officers at the Checkpoint will be stopping vehicles from 7:00 pm to 2:00 am Saturday.
