(Union says they will be filing an Unfair Labor Practice complaint)…The California School Employees Association chapter in Calexico says they will file the complaint against the School District. The CSEA says the District Board should not have designated the District mechanics as Bus Drivers, after laying off the full time drivers. The Union claims the contract with the District indicates the mechanics, though qualified to drive school buses, cannot be assigned to the job, if qualified drivers are available. Union sources have not said when the complaint will be filed. They say the plan is to retrain the Bus Drivers as Custodians and Groundskeepers, with the promise of future employment in either of those categories. |
