(Department of Justice investigating the El Centro Elementary School District)….It is being reported the Department is looking into allegations of a mis-use of funds. The District has confirmed the investigation is underway, but will not say who is being investigated. Officials at the District say the investigation is believed to focus on one individual. While there is speculation as to who that individual is, there has been no confirmation as to the identity of the person being investigated. The investigation is reportedly a result of a report from the state’s Fiscal Crisis and Management Team. The report indicates the mis-use of $6,500 and apparently occurred some time in 2001. |
