(Brawley Police investigate Westmorland murder)…The murder occurred Thursday morning.

Police were notified at 3:00 in the afternoon. Not much more is being revealed by investigators. The 43-year-old housewife was discovered dead in her home at 162 E. Fifth Street in Westmorland. Lt. Bret Houser of the Brawley Police Department confirmed that information, but said he would not release anything else. The County Coroners Office is withholding the woman’s identity at the request of the Brawley investigators. Brawley investigators are looking into the murder because the Westmorland Police Department does not have an investigative unit. Detective Cory Van Dreshy has been assigned the case, and he is not commenting, either. Houser said he expects more information to be released Monday. He said they want to make sure all their ducks are in order before they say any more about the case.
