(Interim Warden to arrive Monday)…Lt. Richard Dubbe, media relations person with Centinela State Prison, confirmed Friday morning the interim Warden will be coming from Blythe.

Dubbe said the Chief Deputy Warden for the Ironwood Facility has been named interim Warden for the Centinela facility, Michael Smelosky begins the job Monday. He is apparently sitting in for Victor Almager, who was reassigned this week. Dubbe also confirmed reports that Almager has been sent to Northern California to work on AB 500, the re-entry reforms. While Dubbe could not confirm Almager would be returning to the Centinela Prison, he did say the Department of Corrections was not actively seeking to fill the vacancy permanently. Almager has served as Warden at the Seeley area Prison for about two years. He was the interim Warden for a year before being promoted into the position fulltime.
