Imperial Valley Strike Team Reassigned PDF Print E-mail

Imperial Valley firefighters have been reassigned to battle another blaze in Northen California.

The Imperial Valley Strike Team is made up of men and equiptment from the Calexico , Brawley , Holtville and Imperial County Fire Departments as well as an engine and four firefighters from the City of Yuma Fire Department. The team was sent north nearly two weeks ago and had been assigned to help with a fire in the Merced area. Word has been recieved that the team has since been redeployed to the BTU Lightning Fire near Chico. They have been assigned to protect structures in the path of the fire. Firefighters from all over the west are battling more than 1,000 wild fires burning in Northen California.
