The Imperial Valley Strike Team that was called in to assist Northern California firefighters last week has been reassigned. Late yesterday the Strike Team was preparing to demobilize and return to the Imperial Valley when they recieved word that they would remain in the north and be reassigned to another blaze. The crew, made up of firefighters from Imperial County Fire, Calexico , Brawley and Holtville Fire Departments as well as an engine and 4 firefighters from the City of Yuma Fire Deaprtment had been in the Merced area assigned to the Oliver Fire. There is no word yet as to where they might be reassigned but firefighters are battling several hundred fires in Northern California.
