It might have four wheels, two wheels or no wheels at all. All net proceeds generated by Imperial Valley vehicle donations will be earmarked for use in Imperial Valley.

Your vehicle donation helps support the American Red Cross mission to prevent, prepare for and respond to emergencies.  At the same time, your donated vehicle qualifies as a charitable tax deduction for you.

The process is quick and easy:

Step 1
Call toll-free (866) 747-3272 and schedule an appointment for FREE vehicle pick up.

Step 2
We retrieve the vehicle at a location of your choice within San Diego or Imperial County.  Submit your vehicle title and keys to the driver and receive a receipt.

Step 3
Your donation is auctioned and the proceeds invested to assist the Red Cross meet its mission to prevent, prepare for and respond to emergencies.

Step 4
You are mailed a receipt from the Red Cross stating the auction price of the vehicle.

Acknowledgment Required

If the claimed value of the car is more than $500, you must have a written acknowledgement of your donation from the Red Cross and must attach it to your return.

Your acknowledgement will include the following information:

1. Your name and taxpayer identification number (Social Security Number).

2. The vehicle identification number.

3. The gross proceeds from the sale.

4. The date of the contribution.
