(A new energy saving program coming just in time for the summer)…The Imperial Irrigation District Board of Directors Tuesday approved two service agreements that will get the program started.

The program is the Demand Response Program. The approved service agreements are with Comverge, Inc and GoodCents, Inc. The two companies will provide the equipment, software, hardware and installation needed to launch a fully operational Demand Response Program. The programs are used by utilities across the nation. The IID developed a program especially for its service area. The Program structured by IID Energy is a mix of air conditioning cycle setback options that will enable participants to choose a cycle strategy that fits their lifestyle. In exchange, participants will receive a small incentive each time the utility cycles back their system. Participants will be able to opt out of the program if they find it is not what they expected. The District says the program is designed to save energy for all Energy customers. The Program is expected to be unveiled to residential, small business and key customers later this year.
