(Imperial Irrigation District Board to review 6-point plan jointly announced with Assemblywoman Bonnie Garcia)….At their meeting Tuesday afternoon, the IID Board of Directors will go over the plan. The 6-point document was part of the negotiation in which Garcia agreed to drop her proposed bill that threatened to create a split of the Imperial Irrigation District. According to the plan; The IID’s new strategic planning process will include ratepayers and elected officials from Coachella Valley Cities and the County of Riverside; The Energy Consumer Advisory Committee will include members appointed by represented areas of the Coachella Valley, including Palm Desert, La Quinta, Indio and Coachella and two nominees from the Coachella Association of Governments or the Riverside County Board of Supervisors; the E C A C will convene at least once a month and its agenda will be posted on the IID website; The IID General Manager will hold quarterly meetings with the City Managers of the represented Cities in the Coachella Valley served by the Imperial Irrigation District; The IID General Manager will review staffing levels in the Coachella Valley and adjust them accordingly, after consultation with the IID Board and the E C A C; and the Imperial Irrigation District will review and accept any membership invitation it might receive from the Coachella Valley Association of Governments. The Imperial Irrigation District Board meeting starts at 1:00 Tuesday afternoon and will be held at Condit Auditorium in El Centro. |
