(The Imperial Irrigation District to discuss reopening division offices)…..A report on what it would cost to reopen the two division offices will be delivered to the Board. The offices would be in Calexico and Brawley. The IID Board postponed the report from their August 19 meeting in order to allow the Energy Consumer Advisory Committee an opportunity to review the report and make a recommendation. The staff recommendation will be to reopen both division offices. The City Manager for Coachella is expected to ask that the division office in that community be reopened, as well. The Tuesday IID meeting is being held in La Quinta. The recommendation is to reopen the old division office in Calexico and to either relocate the Brawley office in the old Imperial Valley Press building, or reopen the old division office in Brawley. The offices were originally closed as a cost saving measure. The Board convenes into regular session at 1:00 Tuesday afternoon. |
