Imperial County Strike Team leaves for Los Angeles Fire

(Imperial County Strike Team heading north)…The Team was assembling in Calipatria late this morning. Calipatria Fire Chief Chris Hall is the Team leader. Firefighters from the Calipat, El Centro, Calexico, Holtville and County Fire departments form the team. They reportedly headed to Riverside County to hook up with the California Department of Forestry Prado Helicopter team. They will all be arriving at the Merek Fire in Los Angeles County tonight. At last report, the Merek Fire has burned 2200 acres and is 25% contained.
