(Imperial City Council wants to help their City Manager)…..The Council has called a special meeting for Friday evening. The topic of discussion will be Marlene Best. The City Manager and her family have become one of the many victims of the Harris Fire in San Diego County. When Best first came to Imperial County as City Manager for Calexico she decided to keep her home in Jamul. She did not change her mind when she went to work as Imperial’s City Manager. This week the home was one of several destroyed by the Harris fire. Best, her husband, three children and animals were all evacuated without injury. The Council has indicated they would like assist their City Manager in any way legally possible. |
