IID - Has Responded to the States Programmatic Environmental Impact Report

(The Imperial Irrigation District says they did respond to the States P E I R. Their request is for the opportunity to submit additional comments)….IID Public Spokesman Kevin Kelley said the District submitted its response to the States Programmatic Environmental Impact Report on the 10 plans to revitalize the Salton Sea on January 16^th. The P E I R, however, a study by the Bureau of Reclamation, independent of any State study, will be released January 23^rd. Kelley said the District asked, in their response, for the opportunity to respond to the Federal Study once it is released, adding to their original comments. He says the district has not received a response to its request. The plans in question concern the revitalization of the Salton Sea, including two local plans. One submitted by the Salton Sea Authority and another submitted by the Imperial Group. The IID is scheduled to appoint a representative to the Salton Sea Authority at their meeting Tuesday. The Appointee will fill the vacancy left by Andy Horne who is no longer on the IID Board.
