(Imperial Irrigation District Board to meet today)….The IID Board is meeting today because they have Veteran’s day off.

The Directors will conduct a workshop dealing with revisions to the Equitable Distribution of Water regulations. The workshop will be held in Condit Auditorium on Broadway in El Centro. Following the workshop, the Directors will hold their monthly informational meeting. During that meeting, IID Board president John Pierre Menvielle will ask his fellow Board members to consider naming the Drop 2 reservoir for the late Warren H. Brock. The Bureau of Reclamation is currently constructing the reservoir. The site is the location of the former Brock Research Center. Menvielle says Brock leased the research facility in 1958 and operated it for the next 30 years. Menvielle says if his fellow Board members agree, a letter will be drawn up and sent to the Interior Department asking the Secretary of the Interior Dirk Kempthorne to name the Reservoir after the late Warren H. Brock. The Secretary was in the Imperial County for the groundbreaking ceremonies for the reservoir.
