(Drunk Driving ruins New Years for a Holtville family)…The California Highway Patrol says 30-year-old Alfonso Castro Jr. had taken his two young children to pick up his wife, 24 year old Reyna Castro, at work New Years Eve. As they returned home, the husband lost control of the vehicle and it rolled on Evan Hewes Highway, East of Highway 115. The wife in the vehicle was the only one wearing a seatbelt. The husband, a three year old and a 7 month old baby all suffered moderate injuries. They were taken to El Centro Regional Medical Center for treatment, as was Reyna Castro. The mother suffered minor lacerations and abrasions. The husband was arrested for felony D U I and Child endangerment. The 24-year-old mother is also facing felony child endangerment charges. |
