(It was another bad air day in Calexico)….The Air Pollution Control District says the Air Quality Alert was issued at 5:00 Tuesday evening for the Calexico area.

Monitoring stations in the Calexico area registered high levels of PM 2.5. The 24-hour average represented a condition of Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups. PM 2.5 is finite Particulate Matter, or dust in the air and can be very harmful to those with respiratory of heart problems. It could also affect the elderly or very young. Residents can reduce their exposure to particulate matter by reducing the intensity and duration of outdoor activities, or postponing outdoor activities and staying indoors until PM levels are reduced.
