(Gonzalez to be sentenced in August)….Fifty six years old Salvador Gonzalez was found guilty Friday of Pre-Meditated Murder. He was convicted of killing his estranged girlfriend, Maria Veloz, at his trailer on Cross Road last year. Gonzalez never denied the killing, but said it was in self defense. Attorneys also alleged it may have been a crime of passion. The jury determined Friday it was premeditated, and rejected defense arguments. Gonzalez could face life in prison. Sentencing was scheduled for August third.
