(Yuma man killed in off-road accident)….The tragedy occurred early Saturday morning at the Imperial Sand Dunes. Officials say the 26-year-old man was driving an off-road vehicle with two passengers. He reportedly crested a 75-foot hill. The vehicle became air-borne and crashed nose first. The Yuma man was ejected from the vehicle and suffered fatal injuries. Officials say the Yuma man was not wearing safety restraints. The two passengers, a 22-year-old Long Beach man and a 24-year-old woman from Placentia, were reportedly wearing seatbelts. The two passengers suffered only minor injuries. None of those involved was identified. The California Highway Patrol says the accident is being investigated. |
