(Gas prices increase in Mexico)…As prices begin to decrease in the United States, they are going the other way South of the Border.

The increase goes into effect today. A spokesperson with the Association of Gas Stations says the increase is being called a Tax on Special Products. It was ordered to accommodate the increased cost to produce gas. The new price for Magna is now $7.60 pesos per liter, up from 7.57. The new price for premium is now 8.78 pesos per liter, an increase of 8 centavos per liter. The new increase is on top of a gradual 36-centavo increase that ended in July.
